The primary function of the Executive Services Unit is to support the Secretary in delivering the mandate of the Department through the provision of strategic policy advice to the Minister and NEC and the overall management of the Department. 

Within the Executive Service Unit are accommodated the functions of the Legal, Internal and External Audits, Gender and Social Inclusion and Communications, which provide a broad-based leadership performance of the Department.
